Please notice that from Auxerre is possible to keep on biking along the Nivernais Channel to where it meet Bourgogne Channel and from here, always along the Channel, to arrive in Tonnerre. 

 

There is also a very nice greenway that links Beaune to Chalon sur Saone so it is possible to reduce the path done by train increasing that one done by bike.
