DAY 01 - 22 SEPTEMBER 2007 - COL DU PETIT SAINT BERNARD - CHAMBERY  

 

By car us and Piera We went to Col du Petit Saint Bernard. From here by bike to Bourg Saint Maurice where We caught the train to Chambery where We spent the night at Hotel Mercure.

DAY 02 - 23 SEPTEMBER 2007 - CHAMBERY - NARBONNE 

 

Went by train to Narbonne. Before to take the train We cycled 18 kms in Chambery. Had a nice night in Hotel de France.

DAY 03 - 24 SEPTEMBER 2007 - NARBONNE - CASTELNAUDARY 

 

Fisrt We followed the Canal de Robine and then the Canal du Midi to Carcassone where We took a train to Castelnaudary, here We have booked the last room available at Hotel du Canal.  Along the Canal de Robine a gentle mountain biker helped us to take the right path, infact is not so simple to understand where to pass. Anna had a flat on the rear wheel.

DAY 04 -  25 SEPTEMBER  2007 - CASTELNAUDARY -  TOULOUSE    

 

Under a cloudy sky We went to Toulouse where We spent the night in a cheap B&B Hotel. Had a very bad dinner that made me feel bad during the night.

DAY 05 - 26 SEPTEMBER 2007 -TOULOUSE - AGEN 

 

We cycled always along the Canal de Garonne having the nice surprise that almost the whole path was perfectly pavemented. Had a head wind and spent the night in the nice Hotel Le Provence. Cloudy wheater.

DAY 06 - 27 SEPTEMBER 2007 - AGEN - SAINT MACAIRE 

 

Again We cycled all day long with a head wind and under a cloudy sky. In Saint Macaire We took an apartement for 60 euro breakfast included in the Hotel Les Tilliers. We had a nice dinner at L'Abricotier restaurant. We finished cycling along the Canal de Garonne.  Saint Macaire is a very nice village.

DAY 07 - 28 SEPTEMBER 2007 -SAINT MACAIRE - ARCACHON 

 

First We reached Nazac Gare following Departemental Roads, then We cycled along the beautiful Bazas - Mios green way and We arrived at evening in Arcachon. Finally We had a nice weather. We spent the night in Hotel Les Mimosas after having a fish dinner at Restaurant Chez Yvette.

DAY 08 - 29 SEPTEMBER 2007 -ARCACHON - ARES 

 

We took a ferry to Cap Ferret where We had 12 oysters and white wine, then under a heavy rain We cycled to Arès choosing the Hotel Le Grain de Sable. Another great dinner at the restaurant Saint Elol. 

 

KM 32 

 

DAY 09 - 30 SEPTEMBER 2007 - ARES - HOUTIN 

 

Nice weather. First We cycled to the coast and then following the sea to Lacanau Ocean. From here We reached Houtin where We have booked the Hotel Le Dauphin.

DAY 10 - 01 OCTOBER 2007 - HOUTIN - SOULAC SUR MER   

 

Again a cloudy day cycling near some wonderful beaches. The Hotel La Hacienda was our choice.

DAY 11 - 02 OCTOBER 2007 - SOULAC SUR MER - NARBONNE 

 

Because of the rain We decided to migrate to South. So We took the train to Narbonne where We arrived at 8 of clock in the evening. We have been again in the Hotel de France.

DAY 12 - 03 OCTOBER 2007 - NARBONNE - NICE 

 

Again because of the bad weather We decided to got back home. We went by train to Nice where We spent the night at Hotel Ibis.

DAY 13 - 04 OCTOBER 2007  NICE - HOME 

 

We went home.
